THE WELL OF LIFE
Proverbs 10:11
A well is a hole dug to access
underground water. Every well must contain uncontaminated water for it to be
called a well. A good well has a source that springs water timely making the
well water living, available and safe for drinking.
Any well that turns bad becomes a
pond. That is, a shallow hole that doesn’t have a sustainable source from the
underground. It often contains contaminated, smelly, irritating water unsafe
for drinking. A bad well contains dead water that cannot support life. It is
stagnant and not renewed because it has got no source. It is a house for all
sort of aquatic animals that survive in ponds. The best you can get from a bad
well is polluted water. As time passes by, a bad well could run dry or become a
hole for dumping refuse.
The bible uses common things
around us to convey great lessons to us that we may clearly understand the mind
of God.
Proverbs 10:11 “The mouth of a
righteous man is a well of life; but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked”
Having said much about what a
well is; here in this bible verse, the bible compares the mouth of a righteous
man/woman to a well of life.
The mouth is like the hole of a
well. The mouth houses the tongue which is an organ responsible for speech
according to what the state of the mind and heart is. The water in the well represents
the words that proceed from our mouths. Moreover, the underground source where
the well water springs from represents our minds and hearts.
This truth is clearly exposed in
the book of Luke 6:45
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth
forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth
speaketh.”
The well of life is the mouth of
life; the mouth of life is the mouth that houses the tongue of life; the tongue
of life is the tongue that is controlled by the mind and the heart of life.
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the
tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”
James 3:2 “For in many things we offend all; If any
man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the
whole body”
Proverbs 25:28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls”
The Mouth of life is the living
mouth; tongue, mind and heart that:
·
gives life to all things Ezekiel 37:1-14
·
conquers death and every negative situations
·
encourages and give grace
·
speaks possibility

The well of life is the mouth of
life. When anyone chooses not to do the will of God in heaven, he possesses the
mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 10:11
says such mouth is covered by violence. I can compare this mouth to the bad
well. The bad or polluted well is a dead well. The wicked mouth is the mouth of
death. It contains the tongue of death that speaks deadly words which proceeds
from dead minds and hearts.
The Mouth of death is the wicked
mouth; tongue, mind and heart that:
·
destroys every good thing
- is contaminated
- is poisonous and acidic
- is polluted
- grieves the Holy Spirit
- speaks impossibility
- speaks failure
- is uncontrollable and speak aimlessly
- is violent and chaotic
- houses all kinds of evil
- is occult
- is stinky, dirty and smelly (alters nothing of good aroma)
- is a factory of curses
- is powerless and have no authority
- lacks virtue and imparts lives negatively
- destroys and condemn
- disunite, scatters and condemn anything good
- lacks wisdom and inspiration
- is a tool of Satan
Beloved, righteousness is a nonnegotiable
key to meet God in eternity. Although our righteousness is like a filthy rag
before God; giving Jesus Christ full control over our lives makes us perfect in
righteousness. Jesus Christ is the fountain of living waters (life). Accept
him; allow him to have his full place and he will make you the well of Life.
Beloved in Christ: Ilesanmi Sesan
